Men's & Women's Inter Provincials

The Men’s & Women’s Inter Provincials took place in Christchurch between 2nd – 7th December.

The Women won their 1st match on day one against neighbors Manawatu/Wanganui 3-2.

The afternoon saw a very tight tussle against Northland with the honors being shared 2.5-2.5

Meanwhile the Men had a bit more of a challenging day with a 4-1 loss to North Harbour in the morning followed by a very 3.5-1.5 loss to Tasman in the afternoon. Both matches were closer than the score shows with mutiple matches going deep into the back nine to find a winner.

Day two saw the Women’s Inter Provincial team up against Wellington. Wellington proved too strong coming away with a 4-1 win. The afternoon saw the team bounce back with a solid 3-2 victory against Taranaki.

This saw the Women sit mid table after 4 rounds having 2 wins, 1 draw & 1 loss.

The Men’s team had a tough match against Bay of Plenty this morning going down 4-1. With their bye coming this afternoon.

This saw the team sitting equal 6th in division two with 3 rounds to play.

The Women finished the last 2 round robin matches with a 4.5-0.5 loss to Aorangi in Round 5 and a 4-1 loss against North Harbour.

This saw the team finish 7th with 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses. The Semi Finals we between North Harbour vs Wellington and Auckland vs Canterbury.

The final saw North Habour come out victorious against neighbours Auckland.

The Men finished their tournament with a 4-1 loss against Wellington, a 3-2 Win against Aorangi and finished with a tight 3-2 loss against Northland. This saw the team unfortunately finish at the bottom of Division Two with 1 Win & 5 losses. But with some new young players playing for the first time it bodes well for the future.

The Semi Finals saw Auckland vs Wellington & Canterbury up against Bay of Plenty.

The final saw Auckland come out victorious against Bay of Plenty .
