Junior Girl's Interprovincial 2021

The Junior Girls Interprovincial was played at Rotorua GC from the 4th October through to the 8th October 2021.

The team consisted of six girls ranging in age from 11 through to 16 years of age.

In order of position-: Ellen Ball (Captain), Kayla Van De Ven, Irina Vlasov, Waimanawa Robinson  (Opotiki), Baylee Ross  (Rotorua), Millie Adsett

Unfortunately HBPB was unable to field six junior girls but,  to make it possible to enter a team,  we were able to borrow two spare juniors from another region which was fantastic for all concerned.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions Auckland and North Harbour were unable to attend, leaving only six regions to compete for the title.

The girls played with such heart and determination, making it a wonderful experience for their  knowledge of competitive golf. They conducted themselves on and off the course with great sportsmanship and consideration for their team mates.

The last two days were extremely difficult with persistent rain and a cold Southerly. The team travelled home very tired after giving it everything all week to achieve 5th place, winning their last round against Bay of Plenty.

A big thank you to Kayla’s Mum, Bronwyn, for all her help with the team, transportation, encouragement all week.

The final was a closely fought battle between Wellington and Waikato with Wellington taking out the title.
