Greenwood Cup 2024 Weekend #1
The 1st weekend of the Greenwood Cup took place on Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th October. There were 2 venues hosting this weekend with Onga Onga & Porangahau playing host to 4 teams each playing 3 rounds over the weekend.
Under beautiful skies the teams played 2 rounds on Saturday. Results were:
Round #1 Results:
Napier bt Central HB 9-1
Hastings bt Karamu 8-2
Dannevirke bt Maraenui 8-2
Onga Onga bt Hawkes Bay 6.5 – 3.5
Round #2 Results:
Hastings bt Napier 6-4
Central HB bt Karamu 6-4
Onga Onga bt Maraenui 7-3
Hawkes Bay bt Dannevirke 7-3
This saw both Hastings & Onga Onga both going 2 from 2 after day #1. With only 1 round on Sunday morning both teams were looking to go for a perfect weekend.
Sunday saw great weather again greeting the teams for the last round of weekend #1.

Hastings bt Central HB 8.5-1.5
Napier bt Karamu 9-1
Onga Onga bt Dannevirke 6.5 – 3.5
Hawkes Bay bt Maraenui 8.5 – 1.5
That sees both Onga Onga & Hastings sit atop the table after 3 rounds going 3 from 3 for the weekend.
The last weekend is set to be in just over a month at Maraenui Golf Club on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th November.
