October was a busy time for the representative teams. With the Junior Girls & Boys Inter Provincials taking place at the start of the month in Cambridge & Rotorua. The Masters Men’s team played in the Stu Smith Memorial Salver at Castlecliff in Manawatu/Wanganui as well at the end of September.

The Girls Interprovincial took place at Rotorua Golf Club.  The team of Kayla Van De Ven, Devon Henare, Ruby Jarvis, Millie Adsett, Miller Henare & Veirty Adsett played over the week of October 2nd – 6th. The girls played well all week gaining valuable experience at the top level. The team managed to have 1 Win, 3 halves and 1 loss which was a fantastic result for the team to come in 5th place behind Canterbury, Bay of Plenty, Auckland & North Harbour.

The Boys Inter Provincial took place at the same time as the Girls at Camrbidge Golf Club. The team comprised of Zack Swanwick, Tuhourangi Wilson, Reuben Harris, Max Drescher, Saul Barker, Oliver Derbie & Leo Dixon. They were looking to follow up their 2nd place in 2022 with a good showing in 2023. Unfortunately the team did not quite get to the heights of 2022 coming away with 1 win and 1 half in the pool play and beating Waikato in the final day for a 7th place finish.

The Masters Men played the Stu Smith Memorial Trophy at Casltcliff in Manawatu/Wanganui at the end of September. The team consisted of Richard Baines, Mark Tasker, Pete Saunders, Steffan Hepburn, Brett Harris, Ritchie Ratima, Jared McGillicuddy & Doug Holloway. Saturday morning saw the team get off to a flying start with a 7-1 win over Manawatu/Wanganui. The afternoon saw the heavens open against Wellington with the round being cancelled due to unplayable conditions. This gave the team a fighting chance against Taranaki on Sunday morning needing a convincing win to bring home the trophy. Unfortunatly not to be with Wellington getting a 7-1 win and the team only getting 4-4 all draw against Taranaki to see Wellington defending their title in 2023.
