Junior Girls & Boys Interprovincial

Junior Golf had its Junior Boys & Girls Interprovincial take place over the week of 4th -7th October.

The Junior Girls played at Rotorua Golf Club in Bay of Plenty. It was fantastic to be able to field a girls team for a 2nd year in a row giving the girls valuable experience in a competition environment. The 6 girls that made up the team were: Kayla Van De Ven, Ellen Ball, Irina Vlasor, Millie Adsett, Devon Henare and Miller Henare. The girls had some good games during the week coming away in 7th place with a win over Waikato in the 7th place playoff.

The boys interprovincial took place at Cambridge Golf Club in Waikato. The boys team consisted of Zack Swanwick, Luke Winter, Jared Lines, Tuhourangi Wilson, Rueben Harris, Cordell Henare and Saul Barker. The boys got off to a fantastic starting winning 4/5 of their round robin games only having a half with Bay of Plenty. This saw the boys top of their pool which meant they would playoff for 1st place against a very strong Auckland team. Unfortunately Auckland proved to be too strong coming away victorious 5-1.

Both teams had a great week of competitive golf to start the end of years competitive golf. The next representative fixture is the Shand Cup & Sybil Green Quadrangular on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th October being held at Hawkes Bay Golf Club.
